Seems Smartwool only posts positive reviews since I know I've reviewed this product negatively in the past and the review did not appear. So maybe Smartwool could take this advice to fix this garment and thus make it what it should be.
Ibex and Icebreaker (check out their Roto) have a 2% lycra content in their wool jerseys. This one has 25% polyester content. I did not realize this but always wondered why this jersey stunk like BO just like a synthetic where all of my other wool baselayers and jerseys could be worn for days on end. Now I know.
So the Betasso looks good. It works and feels like wool, but if it stinks like synthetic what really is the point?
Oh, the one giant pocket is no good either. I like the zip and the idea (it is roomy for a pocket), but due to the size if you do end up putting a bunch of items in it they tend to settle in one part which pulls the jersey in that direction. I still believe the customary jersey 3 pocket design works best as it's easily accessible and stuff stays in. If it ain't broke don't fix it.
