The Hardrock 100 is an ultra marathon that starts and finishes in Silverton, Colorado. It's not your average ultra. With an average elevation of 11,000 feet above sea level, its one hundred miles encompasses some of the most rugged terrain in the state. As crazy as this race sounds, there's a full field every year and some people have completed it repeatedly. A few even win it multiple times.
Meet Smartwool athlete Darcy Piceu, four-time women's winner of the Hardrock 100 and six-time finisher. She has tackled this race more often than most and finished in the top ten of the overall field almost every time. We followed her through the 2016 race in Silverton as she attempted to defend her title and win the women's field for the fourth time in a row.
