Open only to legal residents of the United States, 18 years of age or older. Employees, officers, directors and independent contractors (including endorsers/influencers) of Sponsor, Life Time, Inc. and Chicago Spring Half Marathon, their respective parent companies, subsidiaries, affiliates, or of any agencies/entities involved in the development, production or administration of the Smartwool x Life Time Chicago Half Marathon Sweepstakes (hereafter, “Sweepstakes”) are not eligible to enter or win a prize. Sweepstakes is offered only in the United States.  Void where prohibited by law.

  • Log into your public Instagram account, follow the official Smartwool Instagram account, instagram.com/smartwool (@smartwool) if you do not already.


  • Comment on the Sweepstakes post by tagging the friend you are running with; who are personally known to you; legal U.S., 18 years of age or older (and otherwise eligible as set forth above)†

Following all of the steps above will result in receipt of one (1) entry in the Sweepstakes for entrant. Each participant can have unlimited entries daily.

  • By participating in this Sweepstakes, you agree to abide by and be bound by these Official Rules and the decisions of Sponsor, which are final and binding in all respects and not subject to appeal.


  • ENTRY RESTRICTIONS: TAG A FRIEND
  • It is strongly recommended that you secure the consent of a friend before tagging them in your comment and posting the comment.
  • No Sweepstakes entry will be received if comment does not tag a friend.
  • If more than one (1) friend is included in comment, no Sweepstakes entry will be received. 
  • ADDITIONAL ENTRY RESTRICTIONS:
  • A given Instagram account may only be used by one (1) person to participate in the Sweepstakes as an entrant and/or a tagged friend. In the event of a dispute, the owner of the Instagram account in question, as determined by Sponsor in its sole discretion, will be deemed to be the entrant or the tagged friend. 
  • If participating via mobile device: standard message and data rates and/or wireless Internet access charges may apply when participating in the Sweepstakes.  You may be charged by your wireless carrier in conjunction with Sweepstakes activity. Be sure to check your wireless carrier's pricing plan before participating in the Sweepstakes via mobile device. Wireless Internet access may not be available in all areas.
  • If additional content is included as part of comment, no Sweepstakes entry will be received (by entrant or tagged friend) if Sponsor determines in its sole discretion that the additional content:
  • violates or infringes upon the rights of any party (including copyright, trademark, right of privacy, right of publicity);
  • is inappropriate, obscene, sexually explicit, hateful or otherwise unfit for publication;
  • advocates the use of alcohol or drugs, acts of violence or illegal behavior; or
  • disparages or damages the goodwill and/or business reputation of the Smartwool brand or of the Ikon Pass brand.
  • In posting additional content as part of a comment:
  • you grant to Sponsor and its designees (including Life Time, Inc. and Chicago Spring Half Marathon) the non-exclusive, irrevocable, perpetual, worldwide, royalty-free, transferable, sublicensable right and license to use, perform, exhibit, reproduce and/or otherwise exploit the additional content in any manner and in any and all distribution channels, venues or media now known or hereafter devised, without further notice or any compensation. The preceding grant of rights is subject to any rights retained by Meta Platforms, Inc. in its Instagram social media platform;
  • you further waive any “Moral Rights of Authors” or similar natural rights of ownership you may have in the additional content and agree, upon the request of Sponsor and/or its designees (including Life Time, Inc. and Chicago Spring Half Marathon) and without compensation of any kind, to execute any additional documents so as to effect, record or perfect the grant of rights contemplated by this subsection;
  • you understand and agree that Sponsor and its designees (including Life Time, Inc. and Chicago Spring Half Marathon) have wide access to ideas, stories and other literary/artistic materials submitted to them from outside sources or being developed by their own employees and that such ideas/stories/literary/artistic materials may be competitive with, similar to (or even identical to) the additional content and that Sponsor and its designees (including Life Time, Inc. and Chicago Spring Half Marathon)  shall have no liability under any legal theory to you or any third party in conjunction therewith;
  • you understand and agree that Sponsor and its designees (including Life Time, Inc. and Chicago Spring Half Marathon) do not have any duty of confidentiality or other fiduciary duty to you with regard to the additional content.

ADDITIONAL CONTENT REPRESENTS SOLELY THE VIEWS/OPINIONS OF THE APPLICABLE PROSPECTIVE ENTRANT (AND POSSIBLY THEIR TAGGED FRIEND) BUT DOES NOT REFLECT THE VIEWS/OPINIONS OF SPONSOR OR ITS DESIGNEES (INCLUDING LIFE TIME, INC. AND CHICAGO SPRING HALF MARATHON) IN ANY MANNER. SPONSOR AND ITS DESIGNEES (INCLUDING LIFE TIME, INC. AND CHICAGO SPRING HALF MARATHON) DISCLAIM ANY AND ALL LIABILITY IN CONJUNCTION WITH ANY SUCH ADDITIONAL CONTENT. NEITHER SPONSOR NOR ITS DESIGNEES (INCLUDING LIFE TIME, INC. AND CHICAGO SPRING HALF MARATHON) WILL EDIT OR MODIFY ADDITIONAL CONTENT.


LIFE TIME, INC. AND CHICAGO SPRING HALF MARATHON DO NOT SPONSOR OR ENDORSE THIS PROMOTION AND DO NOT BEAR ANY LIABILITY FOR THIS PROMOTION. YOU AGREE TO HOLD HARMLESS LIFE TIME, INC. AND CHICAGO SPRING HALF MARATHON FROM AND AGAINST ANY CLAIM OR CAUSE OF ACTION THAT ARISES AS A RESULT OF YOUR PARTICIPATION IN THIS GIVEAWAY.  


WINNERS MUST COMPLETE THE REGISTRATION PROCESS FOR CHICAGO SPRING HALF MARATHON [AND PAY ASSOCIATED REGISTRATION FEES] BY DESIGNATED DEADLINE.  


WINNERS ARE SUBJECT TO ANY AND ALL TERMS AND CONDITIONS SET FORTH BY THE RACE ORGANIZERS OF THE CHICAGO SPRING HALF MARATHON. 


  

  • WINNER DETERMINATION:


  • Two (2) winners will be selected in a random drawing from among all eligible entries received during the Sweepstakes Period. Selection of winning entry results in entrant who submitted that entry in such entry each potentially winning the prize. Travel and lodging are not included or provided.
  • Sponsor will conduct the random drawing on or about May 13, 2026.
  • Should a comment include additional content, provided that such additional content complies with these Official Rules (including Rule 4d above), such content will not be taken into account in the winner selection procedure.


  • WINNER NOTIFICATION:   


  • Winner will be notified via direct message from @smartwool.
  • As a condition of prize award, winner may be required a Declaration of Eligibility, Liability Release and a Publicity Release (where legal) to be returned within indicated time period.

(C) IT IS THE SOLE RESPONSIBILITY OF PARTICIPANT (I.E., ENTRANT OR TAGGED FRIEND) ) TO CONFIGURE THEIR PRIVACY SETTINGS SO AS TO ACCEPT DIRECT MESSAGES FROM @SMARTWOOL. IF, FOR ANY REASON, WINNER CANNOT BE CONTACTED, FAILS TO TIMELY RESPOND TO DIRECT MESSAGE, FAILS TO TIMELY SIGN/RETURN DECLARATION OF ELIGIBILITY, LIABILITY RELEASE AND PUBLICITY RELEASE (WHERE LEGAL) [IF APPLICABLE] OR IF PRIZE CANNOT BE DELIVERED, THE PRIZE WILL BE FORFEITED AND AN ALTERNATE WINNER MAY BE SELECTED FROM AMONG ALL REMAINING ELIGIBLE ENTRIES RECEIVED AS SET FORTH ABOVE.


  • PRIZES AND ODDS OF WINNING:


Prize: Two winners will receive free individual entry into Chicago Spring Half Marathon. Travel and lodging to and from the race are not included or provided.


Approximate Retail Value per winner: $160.00.


Odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries received during the Sweepstakes Period.


  • ADDITIONAL PRIZE RESTRICTIONS:


  • Prize will only be shipped to winner at a street address in the (50) United States or the District of Columbia.


  • Prize must be accepted by winner as awarded. Without limitation, the prize must be accepted in its entirety or not at all. If winner declines prize in whole or in part for any reason, no alternate prize or compensation will be awarded.


  • Prize is not transferable.


  • No prize substitution permitted except by Sponsor due to unavailability of prize (or any element thereof) for any reason and only then for prize of equal or greater value.  Prize is NOT redeemable or exchangeable by winner for cash.


  • Applicable taxes on prize and unspecified expenses related to acceptance/use of prize are winner’s sole responsibility.



  • By accepting prize, where legal, winner agrees to the use of his/her name and image for advertising/trade/publicity purposes by Sponsor and its designees (including Life Time, Inc. and Chicago Spring Half Marathon) without further compensation or notice.

  • ADDITIONAL CONDITIONS OF PARTICIPATION:


  • By participating either as an entrant or the tagged friend of an entrant, you release and agree to hold harmless Sponsor, (including Life Time, Inc. and Chicago Spring Half Marathon), their respective parent companies, affiliates, subsidiaries, and the directors, officers, employees and agents of any of the above organizations, as well as Meta Platforms, Inc. from any and all liability arising from the Sweepstakes or the receipt, acceptance, use or misuse of prize.
  • Sponsor is not responsible for late, lost, illegible/garbled, incomplete (including omission of prescribed hashtag as per Rule 2d above), inaccessible, corrupted, damaged or misdirected entries or winner notifications, all of which are void. Sponsor is also not responsible for programming, electronic, technological, telephonic, network or other malfunction, error or failure which in any way affects or interferes with the operation of the Sweepstakes; or for entries or winner notifications not timely received or not received in a usable format or accessible due to filtering by or other operation of Instagram (or any other cause).
  • If Sweepstakes cannot be conducted as originally planned due to any cause beyond Sponsor’s control (e.g., computer virus, act of fraud, natural disaster), Sponsor may cancel/suspend/modify Sweepstakes and select the winners via random drawing as set forth in Rule 5 above from among all eligible entries received prior to and/or after (as appropriate) the action taken by Sponsor or otherwise determine the winners in a manner determined by Sponsor in its sole discretion to be fair, appropriate and consistent with these Official Rules; notice of such action by Sponsor will be posted on @smartwool. 


  • Tampering with Sweepstakes or violation of these Official Rules will result in disqualification; but, disqualification shall not represent the sole remedy available to Sponsor.


  • Sponsor’s failure to enforce any provision of these Rules in a given instance is NOT a waiver of such provision.


  • Any dispute or claim regarding the Sweepstakes will be resolved pursuant to the internal, substantive law of Colorado. Any such dispute/claim must be brought individually (NOT as part of a class action) in U.S. federal or state court in Colorado, with recovery being limited to one’s actual costs in participating in the Sweepstakes (if any) with all damages or other forms of recovery being expressly waived.


  • If any provision of these Official Rules is determined by a court of competent jurisdiction to be invalid, illegal or unenforceable, it shall be replaced by a substitute provision that most closely approximates the original intent of Sponsor and is valid, legal and enforceable. The invalidity/illegality/unenforceability of a given provision shall not affect the remainder of these Official Rules.


  • WINNERS’ LIST:


For names of winners (first name, last initial; city/state), send an e-mail request to smartwool_amermarketing@vfc.com with Smartwool x Life Time Chicago Half Marathon Sweepstakes. Winners in the subject line. Winners’ list will be available after May 14, 2026; winners’ list request must be received by June 14, 2026.
