Online Returns:

Smartwool offers free returns within 30 days from the date of purchase. Items must be unused, unwashed, and unaltered.

Store Returns:

Return the unworn item(s) to the store where you originally made the purchase for a refund or exchange.

1. Start a Return.

Have an account? Log in & Visit Order Details

Are you a guest or did you receive an item as a gift?

Visit the Order Status page to initiate your return. Be ready with your order number and the purchaser’s last name.

2. Process your Return.

Select the item(s) you wish to return.

Select the reason for the return.

Select your return method.

3. Package your item(s).

Help us lower our impact and cut down on waste by reusing the box or bag your purchase was received in.

Print your return label and secure it to your package.

No printer? Select the QR code return method and FedEx Office locations can print it for you free of charge.

 

4. Ship your package.

Drop your package off at your selected return location.

 

5. Receive your refund and confirmation.

Once the warehouse receives and reviews your package, your refund will be processed. You will receive an email confirmation once your refund has been initiated.

Returns Process: Frequently Asked Questions

How do I reprint my return label?

If you just finished processing your return, you should receive an email with the ability to reprint your return label. If you can’t locate that email, please sign into your online account to view your returns history.

How do I create an exchange?

Smartwool does not offer online exchanges at this time.

How do I make a return without my order number?

You can find your order number in your order confirmation email. If you don't have your confirmation email, please contact us.

Why won’t the site accept my order number?

Please revisit your order history or order confirmation email to find your correct order number.

How do I return a gift?

If you received a gift, we recommend reaching out to the original purchaser to get the order number, purchaser's last name and zip code used during purchase. The refund will be processed to their original form of payment. If this information is not available, please contact us.

I purchased this in a store, can I return this online?

Please return the item at the original store of purchase. Smartwool only accepts online returns for items purchased directly from Smartwool.com.

Can my refund go back to a gift card?

The return will go back to your original form of payment. If a gift card was used, you will receive a gift card via email.

What if I do not have a printer to print my return label?

Select the QR code return method and FedEx Office locations can print it for you free of charge.

How long will it take to get my money back?

Refunds may take up to 3-5 weeks to process due to the time often required for shipping and bank processing.

How do I return my 3-pack or 4-pack socks?

To return a 3-pack or 4-pack of Smartwool socks, you must return all pairs included in the pack. Partial returns are not allowed for the value packs.

 

Select the Total Number of Pairs:

  • For a 3-pack, select 3 from the drop-down menu.
  • For two 3-packs, select 6 (total number of pairs).
  • For a 4-pack, select 4 from the drop-down menu.
  • For two 4-packs, select 8 (total number of pairs).

 

Always enter the total number of pairs to ensure you receive a full refund.

 

This helps ensure accurate processing and avoids delays with your refund.
