Sweepstakes is offered only in the United States.  Void where prohibited by law.

  1.  Log into your public Instagram account, follow the official Smartwool Instagram account, www.instagram.com/smartwool (@smartwool), if you do not already.

 

  1. Like the Sweepstakes post.

 

  1. Comment on the Sweepstakes post by tagging a friend who is your adventure buddy; is personally known to you; a legal U.S. resident, 18 years of age or older (and otherwise eligible as set forth above)†; and who you believe is interested in Smartwool clothing, socks and accessories. (Be sure to distinguish your Instagram handle and your friend’s Instagram handle.)

 

†For clarity, all eligibility conditions applicable to entrant also apply to tagged friend.

Following the four (4) steps above will result in receipt of one (1) entry in the Sweepstakes for entrant and their tagged friend.

  1. By participating in this Sweepstakes (either as an entrant or their tagged friend), you agree to abide by and be bound by these Official Rules and the decisions of Sponsor, which are final and binding in all respects and not subject to appeal.

 

  1. ENTRY RESTRICTIONS: TAG A FRIEND
  1. It is strongly recommended that you secure the consent of a friend before tagging them in your comment and posting the comment.
  2. No Sweepstakes entry will be received if comment does not tag a friend.
  3. If more than one (1) tagged friend is included in comment, no Sweepstakes entry will be received. 
  1. ADDITIONAL ENTRY RESTRICTIONS:  
  1. Limit of one (1) Sweepstakes entry per person as an entrant and one (1) Sweepstakes entry per person as a tagged friend, for a total of two (2) Sweepstakes entries per person.   Violation of entry limit (including posting more than one [1] comment and/or being tagged as a friend in more than one [1] comment) will result in disqualification of all but the initial entry available as an entrant and/or as a tagged friend, as the case may be.  However, should Sponsor determine that a person has  egregiously or repeatedly violated the entry limit (as an entrant and/or a tagged friend), they will be disqualified from the Sweepstakes altogether.
  2.  A given Instagram account may only be used by one (1) person to participate in the Sweepstakes as an entrant or a tagged friend. In the event of a dispute, the owner of the Instagram account in question, as determined by Sponsor in its sole discretion, will be deemed to be the entrant or the tagged friend. 
  3. If participating via mobile device:  standard message and data rates and/or wireless Internet access charges may apply when participating in the Sweepstakes.  You may be charged by your wireless carrier in conjunction with Sweepstakes activity. Be sure to check your wireless carrier's pricing plan before participating in the Sweepstakes via mobile device. Wireless Internet access may not be available in all areas.
  4. If additional content is included as part of comment, no Sweepstakes entry will be received (by entrant or tagged friend) if Sponsor determines in its sole discretion that the additional content:
  • violates or infringes upon the rights of any party (including copyright, trademark, right of privacy, right of publicity);
  • is inappropriate, obscene, hateful or otherwise unfit for publication;
  • advocates the use of alcohol or drugs, acts of violence or illegal behavior; or
  • disparages or damages the goodwill and/or business reputation of the Smartwool brand.
  1. In posting additional content as part of a comment:
  • you grant to Sponsor the non-exclusive, irrevocable, perpetual, worldwide, royalty-free, transferable, sublicensable right and license to use, perform, exhibit, reproduce and/or otherwise exploit the additional content in any manner and in any and all distribution channels, venues or media now known or hereafter devised, without further notice or any compensation. The preceding grant of rights is subject to any rights retained by Meta Platforms, Inc. in its Instagram social media platform;
  • you further waive any “Moral Rights of Authors” or similar natural rights of ownership you may have in the additional content and agree, upon the request of Sponsor and without compensation of any kind, to execute any additional documents so as to effect, record or perfect the grant of rights contemplated by this subsection;
  • you understand and agree that Sponsor has wide access to ideas, stories and other literary/artistic materials submitted to it from outside sources or being developed by its own employees and that such ideas/stories/literary/artistic materials may be competitive with, similar to (or even identical to) the additional content and that Sponsor shall have no liability under any legal theory to you or any third party in conjunction therewith;
  • you understand and agree that Sponsor does not have any duty of confidentiality or other fiduciary duty to you with regard to the additional content.

 

ADDITIONAL CONTENT REPRESENTS SOLELY THE VIEWS/OPINIONS OF THE APPLICABLE PROSPECTIVE ENTRANT (AND POSSIBLY THEIR TAGGED FRIEND) BUT DOES NOT REFLECT THE VIEWS/OPINIONS OF SPONSOR IN ANY MANNER. SPONSOR DISCLAIMS ANY AND ALL LIABILITY IN CONJUNCTION WITH ANY SUCH ADDITIONAL CONTENT. SPONSOR WILL NOT EDIT OR MODIFY ADDITIONAL CONTENT.

  

 

  1. WINNER DETERMINATION:

 

  1. One (1) winning entry will be selected in a random drawing from among all eligible entries received during the Sweepstakes Period. Selection of winning entry results in entrant who submitted that entry and the friend tagged in such entry each potentially winning the prize.
  2. Sponsor will conduct the random drawing on or about January 6, 2026. 
  3. Should a comment include additional content, provided that such additional content complies with these Official Rules (including Rule 4d above), such content will not be taken into account in the winner selection procedure.

 

  1. WINNER NOTIFICATION:  

 

  1. Winners will be notified via direct message from @smartwool.
  2. As a condition of prize award, winner may be required a Declaration of Eligibility, Liability Release and a Publicity Release (where legal) to be returned within indicated time period.

  1. PRIZE RESTRICTIONS:

 

  1. Thermal Merino Top, Thermal Merino Bottom and Socks are subject to availability as to color and size. Socks are also subject to availability as to style (including height). Beanie is one size fits all and subject to availability as to color.

 

  1. Prize will only be shipped to winner at a street address in the (50) United States or the District of Columbia. Individual elements comprising Smartwool Prize Pack may be shipped to winner separately.

 

  1. Prize must be accepted by winner as awarded. Without limitation, the Smartwool Prize Pack must be accepted in its entirety or not at all. If winner declines prize for any reason, no alternate prize or compensation will be awarded.

 

  1. Prize is not transferable.

 

  1. No prize substitution permitted except by Sponsor due to unavailability of prize (or any element thereof) for any reason and only then for prize of equal or greater value.  Prize is NOT redeemable or exchangeable by winner for cash.

 

  1. Applicable taxes on prize and unspecified expenses related to acceptance/use of prize are winner’s sole responsibility.

 

  1. By accepting prize, where legal, winner agrees to the use of his/her name and image for advertising/trade/publicity purposes by Sponsor without further compensation or notice.

  1. ADDITIONAL CONDITIONS OF PARTICIPATION:

 

  1. By participating either as an entrant or the tagged friend of an entrant, you release and agree to hold harmless Sponsor, its parent company, affiliates, subsidiaries, and the directors, officers, employees and agents of any of the above organizations, as well as Meta Platforms, Inc. from any and all liability arising from the Sweepstakes or the receipt, acceptance, use or misuse of prize.
  2. Sponsor is not responsible for late, lost, illegible/garbled, incomplete (including omission of prescribed hashtag as per Rule 2d above), inaccessible, corrupted, damaged or misdirected entries or winner notifications, all of which are void. Sponsor is also not responsible for programming, electronic, technological, telephonic, network or other malfunction, error or failure which in any way affects or interferes with the operation of the Sweepstakes; or for entries or winner notifications not timely received or not received in a usable format or accessible due to filtering by or other operation of Instagram (or any other cause).
  3. If Sweepstakes cannot be conducted as originally planned due to any cause beyond Sponsor’s control (e.g., computer virus, act of fraud, natural disaster), Sponsor may cancel/suspend/modify Sweepstakes and select the winners via random drawing as set forth in Rule 5 above from among all eligible entries received prior to and/or after (as appropriate) the action taken by Sponsor or otherwise determine the winners in a manner determined by Sponsor in its sole discretion to be fair, appropriate and consistent with these Official Rules; notice of such action by Sponsor will be posted on @smartwool.

 

  1. Tampering with Sweepstakes or violation of these Official Rules will result in disqualification; but, disqualification shall not represent the sole remedy available to Sponsor.

 

  1. Sponsor’s failure to enforce any provision of these Rules in a given instance is NOT a waiver of such provision.

 

  1.  Any dispute or claim regarding the Sweepstakes will be resolved pursuant to the internal, substantive law of Delaware. Any such dispute/claim must be brought individually (NOT as part of a class action) in U.S. federal or state court in Delaware, with recovery being limited to one’s actual costs in participating in the Sweepstakes (if any) with all damages or other forms of recovery being expressly waived.

 

  1. If any provision of these Official Rules is determined by a court of competent jurisdiction to be invalid, illegal or unenforceable, it shall be replaced by a substitute provision that most closely approximates the original intent of Sponsor and is valid, legal and enforceable. The invalidity/illegality/unenforceability of a given provision shall not affect the remainder of these Official Rules.

Winners’ list will be available after January 26, 2026; winners’ list request must be received by January 16, 2026 at 5:00 p.m. MST.
